In the history of philosophy,the discussion of human's essential thought has always been highly valued.Marx and Sartre had their own unique philosophical thoughts at different times,and their thoughts on human nature had a particularly important influence on the later generations.By comparing the similarities and differences between Marx and Sartre's thoughts on human nature,this paper aims to study the theory that Marx and Sartre's thoughts on human nature play a role in promoting the all-round development of human beings,and to further explore the positive role and far-reaching influence on individual development and social progress in the new era.This paper makes a comparative study of Marx and Sartre's conception of human essence,its social background,theoretical origin,starting point,main content,theoretical and practical significance.Firstly,this paper expounds the different interpretations of Marx and Sartre on the concept of human essence.Marx starts from the attribute of man,Sartre interprets man from the state of being.Secondly,according to the historical period in which Marx and Sartre lived,the social background and theoretical origin of their ideas were compared.Thirdly,it makes a comparative analysis on the starting point of Marx and Sartre's thought on human nature.Marx takes man as the main body of practice to construct his philosophical thought.Sartre,on the other hand,put human existence in freedom and constructed his philosophical thought,holding that human existence and human freedom are interdependent.Then,this paper focuses on the contents of Marx and Sartre's thoughts on human nature.Marx believed that "man is the sum of social relations",On the basis of practice,people carry out all social activities and produce social value.Practice connects people with society.Sartre's view was that "the other man is hell," People can determine their own way of existence,the connection between people and society is restricted by others.Finally,this paper expounds the theoretical and practical significance.Marx's thought on the essence of human and Sartre's thought on the essence of human with positive significance deepened the concept of human,promoted the thought of human,supported the liberation and development of human,and pointed out the direction for human to realize their own value.
