| The thesis takes the post-structuralism art criticism of American art critic Rosalind Krauss(1941—)as the research subject, and systematically sorts out the background, development path and core concepts of its theory.Rosalind Krauss developed her own modernist art history view using the concepts including "the expanded field","the optical unconscious" and "formless".Unlike Clement Greenberg’s pursuit of flatness, medium and purity,Krauss’ s art history view focuses on seeking the unconscious factors behind art works. These two views of art history complement each other and have enriched our understanding of 20 th century modernist art.Rosalind Krauss applied social theories such as psychoanalysis, semiotics and post-structuralism to artistic criticism, shifting the focus of interpreting artistic works from formal cultural analysis to a broader exploration of social significance. This practice of hers not only marks a new path for art history research and art criticism, but also redefines the value of relevant artists and their works in the art history to a certain extent, and also expresses the resistance of left-wing intellectuals to commercial invasion of art. |
