Reduplication is widely used in contemporary poetry because of its vivid description, distinct musicality and strong sense of rhythm. In the language of contemporary poetry, reduplications are abundant, flexible and novel. This paper takes the reduplications in the language of contemporary poetry as the research object. The purpose is to objectively and comprehensively reflect the overall characteristics and unique features of the reduplications of contemporary poetry by analyzing and describing them in detail. This paper is divided into six chapters, including four parts:The first part is the introduction. It mainly expounds the research purpose and significance, research status, research ideas and methods, and defines the reduplication. At the same time,it also explains the source of the corpus and the use of symbols. The second part is the main body(chapters 1-5).This part mainly makes an exhaustive quantitative and qualitative analysis of the reduplications of adjectives, verbs, nouns, adverbs, numerals and quantifiers in the language of contemporary poetry.Through the detailed description of each part of reduplications structure, syntactic function and grammatical meaning,it shows the overall characteristics and features of different parts of reduplications in contemporary poetry language. The third part is the summary(C hapter 6).It mainly describes the overall appearance and characteristics of the reduplications in the language of contemporary poetry. There are a lot of reduplications in the language of contemporary poetry, the frequency of their use is high, and the adjective reduplications dominate. These reduplications have a large number of forms,11 structural forms in total, but they also reject some reduplicated forms;their syntactic position are flexible and can be transposed;their syntactic functions are rich, and often become independent lines, even become independent sentences;because these reduplications can break through the gene ral grammatical restrictions, they can be used more freely and flexibly. These are the unique features of the reduplications with the non-verse style. The fourth part is the conclusion. It mainly summarizes the whole research and points out the shortcomings of this study.
