The Comparative Study Of Noun Reduplication Forms In Chinese And Thai

Reduplication is one of the general language methods, and is also thegrammatical structure to brief language meaning. It is well known that a lot of papersboth in Chinese and Thai are written about adjective reduplication and verbreduplication more than noun reduplication. It is because researchers think most ofnoun generally cannot be reduplicated, except relative noun and measure noun.When I take up research, I find that noun reduplication is frequently used in orallanguage, but it is ignored in research direction. So，This makes me interested innoun reduplication form, and suppose to research and to compare nounreduplication form between Chinese and Thai. This paper is composed of fivechapters as following:Chapter one is an introduction about Chinese and Thai language overview,corpus source, and research method.Chapter two is about noun reduplication form comparison between Chineseand Thai. Noun reduplication of this paper is divided into dependent reduplicationand independent reduplication.Chapter three is about syntactic function comparison of noun reduplicationform between Chinese and Thai. In Chinese language, syntactic function of nounreduplication form can be a subject, object, adjective, adverb, verb, and complement.In Thai language, it can be a subject, object, adjective, adverb, and verb.Chapter four is about a grammatical meaning comparison of nounreduplication forms between Chinese and Thai. Noun reduplication from both inChinese and in Thai language has many meanings, and each form includes manymeanings as well.Chapter five is a conclusion of all comparison of noun reduplication formsbetween Chinese and Thai.
