Music Analysis And Singing Interpretation Of Richard Strauss's "Rest In Peace, My Soul" And "Morning Morning"

Richard Strauss(1864-1949)was one of the representative musicians of the late German and Austrian romantic style in the second half of the 19 th century and the early 20 th century.This paper selects two of the four songs(Vier Lieder,op.27)written by the composer for his wife's wedding morning gift in 1894,namely,"rest in peace,my soul" and "tomorrow morning",as the research objects.Combining their musical characteristics and personal singing experience,this paper focuses on the analysis and exploration of the treatment of singing.Although these two works are short in length,they are quite representative of the characteristics of strauss' s middle period artistic song creation.This paper mainly by the introduction,the text,the conclusion of three parts to explore.The text is divided into three chapters.The first chapter briefly discusses the life of strauss and the creation of his artistic songs.The second chapter makes a selective and specific analysis of the music materials of the two selected works.In the third chapter,combining with my own experience in singing,I made a detailed exploration of the two works,from the accurate pronunciation to the correct understanding of the lyrics,from singing techniques to emotional expression,and the cooperation with the accompaniment.I hope that through the analysis and exploration of this paper,I can better grasp the stylistic characteristics of these two works,and strengthen the expression of musical emotion in singing.After the vocal music learners in the singing of these two works,bring a certain practical value.
