An Analysis Of The Research Status, Hotspots And Cutting-edge Topics Of The Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK)

Chinese language proficiency test(HSK)is a national standardized test designed to test the level of non-native Chinese speakers(including foreigners,overseas Chinese and ethnic Chinese).More and more students at home and abroad take part in HSK,which has attracted great attention.In November 2009,the new HSK was launched and implemented.Compared with the old HSK,the new HSK has great changes in grades and exam modes.The new HSK's concept of “promoting teaching through examination,promoting learning through examination and combining examination with teaching” is totally different from the old HSK's concept of “separating examination from teaching”.Therefore,it is particularly important to explore the influence of HSK on Chinese teaching.Citespace information visualization software based on the background knowledge of literature metrology was developed by Dr.Chen Chaomei in 2004.In recent years,Citespace information visualization software has been widely used to analyze important data in literature,so as to draw hot topics and evolution trends of a certain subject or field.At present,there are few researches on hot topics and cutting-edge topics in HSK research with Citespace visualization software.So this paper makes an in-depth analysis of the literature contents related to HSK from 1983 to 2018 in CNKI database from multiple aspects such as literature growth through Citespace visualization software,exploring the hot topics during 1983-2018 and its development trend in the future in HSK research.There are six sections in this paper.The introduction part introduces the research background,the research significance and purpose of the research,research methods,data processing and the framework of this paper.The first chapter is literature review.Including researches on many fields about Citespace visualization software and domestic research on HSK.This paper reviews the existing research results and puts forward a new perspective of this research.The second chapter is about the growth and distribution of HSK research literature.The literature accumulation number and rate of HSK research are calculated.The distribution of HSK research papers,publishing institutions and their regions are also statistically analyzed.The research status of HSK in these aspects is summarized.The third chapter is the author analysis of HSK research literature.According to the principle of bibliometrics,the HSK study is analyzed from four perspectives by publication quantity statistics of literature authors,cited literatures,core author group and visual map of author cooperation.The fourth chapter is an analysis of the hot topics and frontier topics of HSK research.It is concluded that the hot topics in HSK research mainly include five aspects: “teaching Chinese as a foreign language”,“error analysis”,“MHK”,“language testing” and “backwash effect”.The research frontiers are divided into the progressive research fronts,the robust research fronts and the latest research fronts.The progressive research front includes “error analysis”.The robust research fronts include “new HSK” “countermeasures” “MHK” “international students”.The latest research front includes “exam informatization”.The conclusion part summarizes the research status,points out the hot topics and cutting-edge development of HSK research,and points out the innovation and deficiency of the research.
