Implicit negation is a highly used language phenomenon in Chinese daily communication.Using implicit negation to express one’s own opinions can play a more direct or euphemistic effect,thus successfully completing the communication activities following the principles of face,politeness and cooperation.However,because implicit negation is a special category of negation,which is positive in form but negative in meaning,it needs not only language knowledge,understanding context and even proper reasoning to complete the correct understanding of implicit negation,which causes trouble for Chinese learners whose mother tongue is English.Implicit negation has always been a difficult point for foreign students in Chinese learning,so there are more and more scholars studying implicit negation.However,in a large number of documents,there are more researches on the ontology of implicit negation,less comparisons between Chinese and English implicit negation,and less researches on Teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Therefore,based on the previous research results,from the perspective of cross language and cross culture,from the perspective of comparative linguistics,cultural linguistics,pragmatics related knowledge,presupposition,error analysis,teaching Chinese as a foreign language and other related theories,this paper makes a comprehensive and detailed comparison between Chinese and English implicit negative expressions in the context of Chinese and English by using the method of literature comparison and examples,Focusing on the structure and form of implicit negation expression in Chinese and English,according to whether there are obvious implicit negation signs in the structure used to express the meaning of negation,implicit negation can be divided into two types:conventional and non conventional implicit negation,and the reasons for the differences and similarities are discussed from the linguistic and non linguistic levels.From the perspective of linguistic and non-verbal factors,this paper discusses the causes of the differences and similaritiesThe influence of the difference between Chinese and English implicit negation expression on Chinese and English implicit negation expression is studied systematically and comprehensively.Finally,combined with teaching examples and specific analysis of specific problems,this paper makes a multi angle and all-round analysis and Research on the types of implicit negative errors in the learning process of Chinese language learners whose mother tongue is English,finds out the reasons,and puts forward constructive suggestions to help promote the further development of TCFL.
