People do not notice the clear mismatch between their true choices and the results presented, but they agree with the results that are contrary to their initial choices and provide reasons for the opposite results. This effect is called choice blindness. The choice blindness is proven to be widespread in different fields.Under the condition of limited cognitive resources, did anxiety and memory representation have a common effect on the choice blindness of the middle school students? The study tried to explore this problem.Experiment 1 used a 2×2 between-subject design to explore the influence of state anxiety and representation time on the choice blindness by manipulating the state anxiety level and the presentation time of pictures. The results showed that state anxiety and representation intensity have a common effect on the choice blindness. When the representation time is 2s,the middle school students with low state anxiety were more likely to have choice blindness than the middle school students with high level of state anxiety.Experiment 2 used a 2×2 between-subject design to explore the influence of state anxiety and the interference intensity on the choice blindness by manipulating the state anxiety level of the participants and the intensity of the interference task. The results showed that state anxiety and the interference intensity have a common effect on the choice blindness. When the memory interference intensity was low,the middle school students with high state anxiety were more likely to have choice blindness than the middle school students with low state anxiety. Conclusions: Firstly, choice blindness is a widespread phenomenon in the middle school students;Secondly, the state anxiety and memory representation have a common influence on the choice blindness of middle school students.
