With the deepening of globalization, multiculturalism has an impact on the psychology and behavior of individuals due to its impact on the relatively stable value system of traditional society.Previous studies have found that multicultural experience can lead to unethical behavior of individuals,so can multicultural experience in different social domain lead to unethical behavior of individuals? This is the focus of this study. Therefore, this study attempts to explore the influence of multicultural differential experience on individual unethical behavior through two experimental studies. Both online experimental study 1(N=169)and offline experimental study 2(N=268)found that the experience of multiculturalism differences leads to individual immoral behavior with the particularity of social domain, and the multicultural differential experience in personal domain and moral negative domain leads to individual immoral behavior. But relatively speaking, the multicultural differential experience in the domain of conventional and the domain of positive morality does not lead to significant unethical behavior. This study emphasizes the boundary conditions under which the experience of multiculturalism influences the immoral behavior of individuals, which enriches the social domain theory, helps us to guard against the negative influence of specific social domains, and promotes the positive role of multiculturalism experience. |
