Lu Simian's Research On The History Of Sui And Tang Dynasties

Lu Simian,a famous historian,wrote a lot of books in his lifetime,and he was called "four masters" of modern Chinese historiography together with Chen Yinque,Qian Mu and Chen Yuan.Lu Simian had a wide range of scholarly studies,including historical,literary,and ethnological records.He was the author of two general histories of China and four dynastic histories.History of the Sui,Tang and Five Dynasties was his last dynastic work.This paper,entitled "Lu Simian's Research on Sui and Tang Dynasties history",discusses his contribution to sui and Tang Dynasties History Research Institute.Lu Simian's research achievements in Sui and Tang history are mainly concentrated in Lu Zhu's general history of China,Bai Hua Ben Guo Shi,Xin Tang Shu Xuan Zhu,Sui Tang Wu Dai Shi.Taking the history of Sui,Tang and five dynasties as an example,this paper illustrates that Lu Simian's research on Sui and Tang dynasties is rich in materials.Not only Book of Sui,Old Tang Shu,new Tang Shu,Zi Zhi Tong Jian,but also many historical materials of Tang and Song Dynasties and textual research works of Ming and Qing Dynasties.This shows that Lu Simian's study of Sui and Tang history is not simply a "copy book",but in contrast to the historical data to be written.By comparing with Cen Zhongmian's sui-tang history and Yang Zhijiu's outline of the sui-tang and five dynasties history,this paper shows that Lu Simian's study of sui-tang history has a unique style in the chapter setting by combining the style of documentary record and the style of rules and regulations.He was able to revise historical book errors and dialectical the historical events misunderstood by historical books,and his comments on historical figures in Sui and Tang dynasties were original and impressive.Lu Simian's study of Sui and Tang history embodies a strong historical thought.The main performance is: Pursue "historical evolution theory",keep pace with the times;care about the reality,with a strong practical thought;pay attention to the people,including strong people-oriented thought.Lu Simian,who had been engaged in history teaching and academic research for a long time,was able to use the method of poetry to prove history,to interpret the history of the Sui and Tang dynasties from the perspective of the natural situation andthe situation in the Borderland,to pay attention to the influence of customs and habits on historical events and figures,and to the contradiction between historical materials,the truth of climbing comb history has the characteristics of popularization and combination of learning.
