The National Medium and Long-term Plan for Education Reform and Development points out that education development of information should“strengthen the application of information technology,improve the level of teachers applying information technology,and update the teaching concept.”The integration of information technology and English is mainly about the ability of teachers to apply information technology in the classroom.Based on the above background,this study comprehensively investigated and analyzed the current situation and influencing factors of information-based teaching ability of English teachers in four rural junior middle schools in Wanzhou District,Chongqing,in order to provide suggestion for improving the information-based teaching ability of rural English teachers.This research mainly adopted the methods of literature research,questionnaire survey and interview,and took the junior middle school English teachers of four rural schools in Wanzhou District as the research object to issue questionnaires.Based on the statistical survey results,it analyzed the current situation and influencing factors of English teachers' information-based teaching ability in four schools,and put forward corresponding strategies and suggestions.First,the author use the literature research method to find that the information-based teaching ability of rural junior middle school English teachers can be divided into five dimensions “technical literacy” “planning and preparation”“organization and management” “evaluation and diagnosis” “learning and development”;Second,through the investigation and analysis of the main problems of the information-based teaching ability of rural junior middle school English teachers in Wanzhou District:(1)The average value of each dimension is 3,the fluctuation indicates that teachers' information-based teaching ability has not reached a good level;(2)Among them,teachers are the worst at the level of learning and development,with an average of 2.75;(3)There are differences in Teachers' information-based teaching ability of different ages and educational background;Third,teachers themselves,school environment and cultural factors affect the information-based teaching ability of rural junior middle school English teachers.Based on the above findings,this study proposed strategies for the development of information-based teaching ability of rural junior middle school English teachers in Wanzhou District:(1)Strengthen the construction of information-based teaching ability of rural junior middle school English teachers;(2)Improve the external environment for the improvement of information-based teaching ability of rural junior middle school English teachers;(3)Build an information-based learning community of urban and rural English teachers.
