A Study Of The "Xian Yu Jing" Cited In "Jing Lv Yi Xiang" And Its Original Text

Jing Lv Yi Xiang(??????)is the Buddhist reference books collected by Bao Chang,a monk living during Liang Dynasty in South Dynasties.It includes almost all of the translated Buddhist that were introduced to China before the 6th century,including the Xianyu Jing(?????).However,it does not directly copy the Xianyu Jing(?????),but recompiled and rearranged,which leads to the emergence of a large number of variants.At present,most of the researches are focused on words,but there are few researches on syntactic and discourse.This paper takes variant as the object of study,and makes a comprehensive study from the perspectives of words,syntactic and discourse.On the basis of corpus construction,this paper draws the following conclusions through comparative analysis of variant.First,the Xianyu Jing(?????)is written by eight monks,and includs two types:engraved version and handwritten version.Second,when quoting the Xianyu Jing(?????),the Jing Lv Yi Xiang(??????)changes some characters.The relations between these characters are very complicated,which can be roughly divided into four types:different characters,ancient and modern characters,common characters and wrong characters.Third,the phenomenon of synonym substitution often appears in variant,according to the different sources,it can be divided into the words of the nation and foreign words.The alternation of double syllable is the most common in the words of the nation.Through comparison,we find that some foreign words are translated in different ways,while others are translated in the same way but with different words,which also leads to the emergence of variant.Fourth,there is not much change in the syntactic.Fifth,the omission of syntactic is very common in variant,but the Jing Lv Yi Xiang(??????)has a certain tendency in this respect,that is,it adds the omission of predicate and often omits the rear attributive.Sixth,in the process of sorting,the combination of some words is often changed,which leads to the change of the syntactic structure of some words.In variant,the change of verb-object word group is the largest,which is converted to the subject-predicate group,the verb compliment group,and the subordinate group.In addition,there are a certain number of appositive group in the variant,which are basically retained in the original appearance.Seventh,there are a large number of omission,it follows four principles,namely,deletion,selection,generalization and summary,they achieve the function of communication,rhetoric and cohesion.Eighth,the variant of every story can be seen as a meaningful chapter,from the point of cohesive devices,the comprehensive use of four means of nominatum,conjunction,omission and lexical cohesion makes the text coherent.However,in the reconstruction,these cohesive devices are retained,deleted and transformed.Ninth,from the perspective of narratology,there are also differences in narrative discourse and narrative order.Through comparison,variant can be interpreted,right and wrong can be determined,and Chinese dictionary can be supplemented and revised.As a result,it is an important object in the study of language and emendation,and it has great value in the fields of textual criticism,philology,exegesis and lexicography.
