Since the beginning of the new century,Chinese urban-rural development has become more imbalanced.During the same period,Chinese social ideological changes have become more pronounced.Chinese rural-themed movies have experienced a lot of changes in movie themes,film styles,and characters compared to the movies in the last century.However,most of the existing researches on Chinese rural films in the new century are based on the analysis of individual film texts,and lack an overall investigation that links the social context of those films.Based on this,this thesis adopts case study,text research,comparative research and other research methods.The main farmer images in 42 films that have a certain influence in Chinese rural movies since the new century are used as research objects.Based on the analysis and generalization of the characters in rural movies and their changing characteristics,based on this,the research combines the new century film creation methods with the changes in China's social environment,examines the causes of the transformation of farmers' images,and concludes.The image of the peasants and the current situation of Chinese peasants are interrelated.The introduction of the first chapter the thesis introduces the background and reasons for the research of this thesis,and makes a comprehensive description of the current research status based on the existing relevant literature and monographs collected by the author.The shortcomings and deficiencies of peasant image research in rural films in the new century put forward specific issues of their own research.Finally,according to the study of specific issues,the author plans the specific research content of this paper,that is,in the 21 st century timeline,the image of the peasants in more than 40 rural-themed films that have flowed into the film market and have a certain influence is made Specific research,and take a one-by-one analysis of film texts,classify and compare different categories,and add text research methods to analyze and summarize the paper in detail.The second chapter of the thesis mainly summarizes the heroes and typical peasants' figures in 42 rural movies with distinctive characteristics since the 21 st century by the methods of classification and specific case studies.They include the "sufferers," the persistent strugglers,the choosers,the fighters,and the vulnerable groups with faith.The third chapter of the thesis is based on a historical investigation of the changes in the image characteristics of the main farmers in Chinese rural movies around the new century.The author further analyzes the social reality factors and film creation factors of the changes in the image of Chinese rural movie farmers in the new century.On the one hand,there is a split between China's policy of supporting rural development in the new century and the reality of peasants' increasing poverty,and the spiritual world of Chinese peasants has also been squeezed by traditional culture and the rules of modern social systems;on the other hand,the creative methods of realism are The return to Chinese film creation in the new century has a deeper understanding and application of typology,which all work together to shape the image of Chinese rural film farmers in the new century.The fourth chapter of the thesis is based on the summary of the peasant image in the second chapter of the thesis.Based on the types and characteristics of the peasant image,the author summarizes the peasant image in the new century rural movies from the types of peasants,social encounters,and personalities.The whole has pluralistic and rheological characteristics.This characteristic is related to the overall social living conditions,social,cultural,spiritual,and cultural changes of Chinese farmers in the new century,and is a sign of the changes in the social image and living environment of Chinese farmers.In combination with the peasant identity,professional background,and personality characteristics of other new media software and social news reports in China today,the author believes that some of the peasant images that are very common in today's society are ignored in current Chinese rural movies,indicating that rural movies There is a certain degree of rigid narration in the image of Chinese farmers.
