New Century Rural China Film Studies

As a special theme of movie, the film of countryside in China has been dominated by a very prominent position in the Chinese film history.In the new century,our government called for building a new socialist countryside, the film of countryside turned on a new page. On one hand, the film of countryside in the new century has been developed on the content of the innovation, also in the portrayal of characters and the usage of audio-visual language have taken further improved. On the other hand,directors who go into the countryside, dare to reflect problems in their films, and they make deep reflection. This series of movies get an emotional resonate in the audience, the problems which reflected in these films also made people realized that, in addition to economic development in the rural area, there are many other aspects such as legal environment, the level of education universalization needs to be improved. This paper will analysis and elaborate on four parts of Chinese countryside film, including the characters in the new century countryside films, the theme, the visual language and the social significance of the new century countryside moives.
