Ballade no.4 in f minor is one of Chopin's later masterpieces.It is widely recognized as the most mature,most dramatic and most difficult of Chopin's four ballades due to its multiple variations of theme,unconventional arrangement of harmony and rich changes of musical mood.Starting from the historical background of ballade creation,this paper analyzes the musical form framework,the progress of harmony and the transformation of tonality of this work,and grasps the motive of the theme and the melody color.Combined with my own practical experience in playing,this paper gives a more accurate and comprehensive summary of the performance techniques of ballade no.4 in f minor from the aspects of touch mode,rubato,force control,finger-arrangement and pedal application. |
