Elegy was composed by Mr.Liu Tianhua in the winter of 1927.It is one of the top ten Erhu tunes of Liu Tianhua, and it is difficult to play.As the fourth Erhu tune of Liu Tianhua,it has no "traditional music style" of the first three and has borrowed some western techniques, which has become a successful example of the combination of Chinese and Western styles in the early works of Erhu.I choose Mr.Zhang Rui’s version for research, because Mr.Zhang Rui is Mr.Liu Tianhua’s disciples’ disciple, and His elegy is one of the recognized classics. In the first chapter, nine representative and influential versions are selected, and their characteristics are analyzed and compared with Zhang Rui’s version. The second chapter analyzes and discusses Zhang Rui’s version through bowing technique, speed and string rubbing. The third chapter is the enlightenment in Zhang Rui’s Elegy. |
