“Pagodes”,“La soiree dans Grenade”,and “Jardins sous la pluie” consist one of the most profound works of Estampes,in which Claude Debussy presents a world of exoticism and variety,Claude Debussy's passion of the musical characteristics of different countries and regions is reflected in the rich and exotic harmonies,and the characteristic melodies are projected onto the notes through the ever changing harmonies and modes,the composition of the music is very distinctive,with a delicate quality,using colored harmonies to express the contours of the work,and in this work people can learn about Claude Debussy's individual musical features,the composer creates a virtuoso performance that is typically impressionistic,with fantastic and variable sound effects.The form of art constitutes a variety of artistic features,which is an important expression in piano music.In Impressionist music,one can hear Claude Debussy's passion for composition,as well as his creativity in piano compositions.The Romantic music wrote mainly about their inner feelings,and the Impressionists believed that music was not only a means of expressing inner feelings,but also a means of describing the visual enjoyment of light and shadow.Thus,the descriptive function of music is sublimated.Claude Debussy's description of images and subjects is not only to imitate and reenact the transformation of the scene,but also to stimulate the musician's inner feelings and creative motivation by highlighting the visual angle,it reflects the way and the composer communicates with the scenes.In the period of Common Practice,it mainly uses the function and sound system of major and minor keys to create.In the Romantic period,the expressive force of music became more and more abundant,reaching a certain height of creation.However,with the change of social environment and aesthetic concept,composers are increasingly dissatisfied with the Romantic language of music,so they are constantly looking for new creative possibilities.The emergence of Impressionist music represented by Claude Debussy is an important representative of seeking a musical breakthrough at the turn of the century,and the print collection is the representative work of Impressionist Music Claude Debussy,which fully reflects Claude Debussy's creative thinking.This study of the harmony,mode and melody of Claude Debussy's “Estampes” can explore the breakthrough of Claude Debussy's Impressionist music in comparison with the Common Practice and Claude Debussy's important contribution to the development of Western music.
