Founded in A.D.882 by the King of Rus Oleg,and destroyed by the Mongolia Empire in A.D.1240,the Kievan Rus is the first unified regime in Rusian history.The establishment of Kievan Rus is the result of various causes,one of which is the foundation and development of neighboring country.Based on Marxist Materialist conception,this paper comprehensively researches on the foreign policy of Kievan Rus with application of theories in History,Geopolitics and International Relations.Meanwhile,Data Analysis is a main tool.Structurally,the paper is divided into two sections.The first part mainly prefaces the background and the meaning of the research,the research status.And also,research characteristics,methodology and new ideas are in this part.The scond part makes the backbone of this paper with six chapters in detail.The first chapter discusses the historical course of Kievan Rus.When the Slavic stratified,East Slavic came to settle in Eastern Europe,and founded Kievan Rus with Vikings.But with the aggression of nomad and intensive feudal separation,the state of Rus declined.The second chapter describes the relations between the Kievan Rus and the Vikings.The foundation of the former is closely related to the expansion of the latter.Bilateral trade boosted the commercial development of neighboring counties.The third chapter discusses all-dimensional relations between the Kievan Rus and Byzantine Empire.Both played an important role in trade of Wahidullah waterway.Trade and religious strife are important contents of their relations.The forth chapter discusses the foreign policy of eastern district of Kievan Rus.Khazars is a main competitor and a potential threat at the beginning of its foundation.Mutually beneficial foreign relationship was formed between Volga Bulgaria and Kievan Rus,for the former located in distant eastern district.Then the invasion of Pechenegs and Polovozzi accelerated the decline of Kievan Rus.The fifth chapter describes the relations between Kievan Rus and counties in the west.The foreign policy of Bulgaria,Poland and Hungary to Kievan Rus are easily influenced because they are among Powers.The sixth chapter historically evaluates the foreign policy of Kievan Rus.The paper tries to disclose influential factors of its foreign relations through the analysis above,and dissect the significance.
