On The Transformation Of The Church Of The Kievan Rus Customary Law

At the biginning of tenth centry A. D., ancient Russian was formed with the center of Kiev. 980 A. D., Duke Bladimio ascended the throng, by this time, the fredalism relation of ancient Russian had already had some development, dukes' power had been stronger than before, and polytheism had already been the clog for the unification of the country and the further aggrandizement of dukes' power. So , 988A. D. Duke Bladimio accepted Christianity as the state religion. For purpose of the generalize of Christianity, Duke Bladimio and his successors had given the church strong support, including to give the church extensive jurisdiction.In order to make the residents of Kiev real Christians, except preaching, the church also tried to change customary laws of ancient Russian in accordance with laws of Byzantium by justice and legislation. The church how to change customary laws of ancient Russian, what the result was and how to appraise this result is just the forcus of my thesis.I think, to transplant laws between countries under different culture is what the church did. Today we are ransplanting and will continue to transplant laws from western countries, so some experiences of the church of ancient Russian are what we still can learn from and many prolems that the church had met in the process of transplantation of laws are what we still need to think seriously.
