There is a common proverb: one kind of natural environment and climate raises one kind of people. The formation of groups and individuals depends on the nourishment and shaping of the specific natural environment and social environment. The formation of groups and individuals is inseparable from the nourishment of the specific environment.Culture,as the network of the meaning of human survival, guides and coordinates the logic of social behavior and exists as an institutional element of the existence of wisdom. In the Miao society in Mashan,Guizhou Province, the culture formed with the ancestral belief of "Yalu" as the core has helped them to survive in Mashan, which geologists call "extremely unsuitable for human society".In their adaptation to their living environment, which in terms of the natural environment, the "mother-child” type of cognition shaped their view of ecological civilization close to nature. In its livelihoods, eating habits, and forms of residence,it represents the ecological wisdom of awe, obedience to nature, integration with nature, and harmonious symbiosis, thereby creating a habitat in which people live in harmony with nature. In terms of social environment. In the face of various relationships, the concepts of "brothers” and "worldly family” have allowed them to build a solid relationship in the process of go to market, and to maintain the long-term relationship. This creates a habitat in which people and people coexist harmoniously with each other, helping each other, mutual assistance, and mutual understanding.Of course, for all this to work in the long run,it needs to rise to the spiritual world to support and sustain it.In the Mashan Miao society, folk tales / legends, traditional festivals, and folk rituals are not only based on ancestral beliefs, but also allow participants to "internalize in the heart" in the process of "externalization in action".They are convinced of this culture and their generational extension.Enjoy it from generation to generation. The Yalu faith provides strong spiritual support for the Miao in a harsh natural environment and a relatively closed social environment. With the changes of the times, especially the intensification of multiple values, the original beliefs have been eroded, and the power of faith has been weakened. The local Miao people faced many challenges such as the tension of belief and cultural re-adaptation.Excavating its unique cultural connotations and adopting a transformational path can help Miao better adapt to the needs of the new environment and once again exert its role as a spiritual core.
