Mainly dwelling on the banks of the Chong'anjiang River of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, the Gejiaren family is an unrecognized ethnic nationality with a strong ethnic identity. As the largest inhabitant of the Gejairen, the Fengxiangzhai Village is favored by scholars for its typical culture. This paper takes the ancestor worship in the religious beliefs of the Gejiaren family as the starting point, and emphatically analyzes the extrinsic manifestations of ancestor worship, and records in detail the complicated and varied ancestral rituals of the ancestors.Taking the annual "Qiaojie" ancestor worship festival as an example, the author observed the ceremony in person, documented the process of the rituals, and conducted survey interviews based on literature materials,so as to explored the deep-seated cultural meanings within the ritual and the social organization that supported the ritual operation.By choosing symbols of different forms, such as ancestral drums, priests, and"migration words" in the ceremony, the author analyzed their implicit symbolic meanings, attempting to interpret the intrinsic relationship between the ancestor worship of the Gejiaren family and the social organization structure of the yin and yang. The paper points out that faith is a kind of spiritual support of people, and the ritual presents it in a practical way so as to express people's inner demands. At the same time, people will express their understanding of social relations and their sentiments about natural life and death in the form of rituals. The ancestral ritual is the result and product of people's ancestral faith. It is based on the present, rooted in the past, and extended to the future. The "Qiaojie" ritual provides a field.Following the funeral,it continues to eliminate social"disorderliness" brought about by death.Through the priest's "yangga," the deceased will return as an ancestor. It expresses the concept of a cycle of life and death. The paper also points out that the ancestral spirit constructed by the tanner is a projection and sacredization of the real world. It originates from reality and is higher than reality. It eliminates people's fear of death by the cycle of birth anddeath. In order to maintain the balance between "two worlds," the society has given special personnel the ability to communicate between the two worlds of yin and yang, which has led to the formation of a traditional social management system of the Gejiaren. At the same time, ancestral rituals also have important social functions. It plays an important role in the connection relationship. Its repeated performances can timely update people's emotions and information between ghosts and gods, ancestors, and people;and in the name of reconciling yin and yang,it educates and reaffirms the importance of collective consciousness and social order; In the way of tracing family origins and recalling history, the identity of the clan community was strengthened, and the continuation of tradition also made the local culture more ethnically representative.
