Initially, the classification of rituals only division of the sacred and the secular aspects. Thereafter, anthropological research on ritual is placed under the broader social and cultural background to reinterpret, extensively regard the ritual as connected with the human beliefs, customs, political and economic aspects of behavior. In academic circles, the division of the ritual mainly based on division of the related theory, according to the ritual function, goal and the process of ritual.According to the distribution of the space of the ritual, enumerating rituals that held by Hui people in Ningxia. The ceremony is divided into communal rituals, family rituals and wilderness rituals. With the core cultural of Muslim mosque and by many Muslims participate in the ritual called communal rituals;which are held by the family unit called family rituals, also surrounding the core culture. There is a ritual is held neither in the mosque, nor in the family. This kind of ritual is held in the wilderness known as wilderness rituals. The ritual is in the edge of cultural circle, which belongs to the marginal culture. In the Hui culture, Hua er Festival, Rain Praying ritual, The Worship of Gongbei and Pay homage to their ancestors are wilderness rituals.Using Levi-Strauss’s theory of binary opposition to discuss the wilderness and community in the spatial distribution of opposition. The Hui culture and the Han culture belong to two culture circle, but for some of the Han culture element, the Hui culture is not included in, but only in a special ritual use need to borrow, borrow, do not have.
