As the exchanges between countries deepen, more and more countries are forming partnerships based on different purposes. There are a wide variety of partnerships and different definitions of partnerships. In this thesis, partnership is an independent international cooperation relationship established by international actors based on common interests and through common actions to achieve common goals. The United States has a large number of partner countries around the world, and its partnership with Singapore is particularly special.Although the two sides are partnerships, their relationship is closer than that of US-Thailand and The US-Philippines and other allies. This thesis is divided into three chapters: The first chapter is based on the end of the Cold War,it discusses the development of relations between Singapore and the United States since Singapore's independence, and focuses on the analysis of US policy towards Singapore. The second chapter discusses the current status of US policy towards Singapore. It mainly discusses how the United States views Singapore's role in Asia-Pacific strategy. The third chapter analyzes the US policy outlook for Singapore under the current situation, and discusses the challenges and prospects of the relationship between the two sides. In the end,it concludes that the relationship between the United States and Singapore has been close for a long time. The essence of the US-Singapore partnership is the “paramilitary alliance” based on common interests.Singapore has greater value in the United States in the multilateral participation platform.
