The ancient rites had a profound and positive influence on ancient law,especially on Tang Code,the representative of Ancient Law.First,from the origin,ritual originated from sacrifice,formed with the Western Zhou Dynasty,and continued to evolve and improve,is a mode of production strategy and social control tools.The content of Zhou Rites is all-inclusive,involving all aspects of social life,can be said to involve the main areas of ancient Zhou Society.The value and significance of ritual is not confined to the words,deeds,manners and appearance of the ancients,but is closely related to the strengthening of the centralisation,the maintenance of the social hierarchy,and the realization of the goal of running a country and a stable state.It can be said that the rule of etiquette is an ancient model of governance,but also a principle of governance.Secondly,the rule of rite was established in the Zhou Dynasty,but it was further developed in the spring and autumn period,the Warring States period,the Han Dynasty,the Wei,Jin and the southern and northern dynasties.Until the Tang Dynasty,the introduction of rites into the law was highly recommended by the Ruling class.In the historical development of introducing ritual into law,Tang Code has important value and significance.Thirdly,the rite,as the key core of the Tang Code,makes it mature on the way of introducing the rite into the law and combining the rite with the law.The principle of rule by ceremony had a positive influence on the rule of state and the legislative thought in the early Tang Dynasty,which was mainly reflected in the political idea of "Benevolence and justice" and the legislative thought of "morality and punishment".At the same time,it is also reflected in the influence of "the supremacy of imperial power","the difference of grades","humanism" and "the combination of ceremony and Law" in the Tang Code.
