Research On The Shanghai Democratic Youth Federation (1949-1958)

China's youth federation is the bridge and link between the party and the youth,is one of the important pillars of the state power.Shanghai is a complex city with a large number of young people and a complex situation.Before liberation,we had a relatively solid foundation in the work of workers and students,and had little contact with other young people from all walks of life.The Shanghai democratic youth federation was established in the early days of the liberation of Shanghai in order to closely unite and educate the city's youth.Shanghai citizens after youth was founded,adhere to the leadership of Chinese communist party and government,under the guidance of patriotism thought,with the national bourgeoisie and urban petty bourgeoisie,religious youth,ethnic minorities,young technical personnel the five aspects as the main working object,efforts to unite the different nationalities,different beliefs,the different professional youth,encourage the youth to study political theory,constantly improve the consciousness of patriotism and socialism;It plays a very important role in the development of youth work and the united front work for the youth in Shanghai to promote the youth to learn technical and cultural knowledge and make efforts to realize the transition from new democracy to socialism and socialist construction.This paper focuses on the establishment of Shanghai democratic youth federation,the specific practical activities carried out by the youth,the characteristics of the work and the role played by the youth,and makes a systematic study of the Shanghai democratic youth federation from 1949 to 1958.During this period,Shanghai democratic youth federation carried out ideological and political education and legal popularization to the youth,strengthened cultural learning and social production and labor activities,won the full trust of the party and the government,won the enthusiastic support of the youth groups,and improved the youth's sense of identity to the party and the country.Of course,there were also shortcomings in the work of Shanghai democratic youth federation at that time,such as the lack of flexible operation mode and wide organization coverage,etc.,but overall,the youth work in Shanghai still achieved certain results under its leadership.Its practical experience not only laid a foundation for the youth work in Shanghai,but also provided important reference value for the youth work in contemporary China.In the new period,we must adhere to the leadership of the party,actively implement the principles and policies of the party,and strengthen the ideological,theoretical and political education of the youth.We will carry out all activities that are conducive to giving full play to the enthusiasm and creativity of young people in light of their actual conditions,and unite them to the greatest extent possible,so that they will become a powerful force for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
