Marx And Engels' Theory Of Charity Alienation And Its Contemporary Value Research

The charity thought of Marx and Engels is an integral part of Marxist theory.In order to understand their charity thought accurately,we need to put the charity thought of Marx and Engels into the overall context of western charity tradition to investigate and clarify the essence of Marx and Engels' criticism of bourgeois charity.On this basis,we can further clarify the guiding significance of Marx and Engels' philanthropy thought for China's contemporary philanthropy.This paper is based on Marx and Engels' philanthropy theory,Western philanthropy tradition and the current situation of China's philanthropy activities.The first chapter combs the relationship between the western modern philanthropy theory and Marx Engels' philanthropy theory.There are two different traditions in the theory and practice of modern western charity,namely,the religious tradition of charity and the secular tradition of charity.The former refers to human mutual assistance based on compassion,while the latter focuses on the improvement plan of human society.Marx and Engels are not opposed to charity based on religious tradition.At the same time,they understand the charity activities in the modern West from the secular tradition.Therefore,the essence of Marx and Engels' criticism of modern western charity lies in their opposition to the social improvement plan dominated by bourgeois ideology and the resulting alienation of charity.The second chapter expounds the specific analysis of Marx and Engels on the alienation of modern western philanthropy.By comprehensively combing the relevant texts of Marx and Engels on the alienation of modern western philanthropy,the author believes that the analysis of Marx and Engels on the alienation of modern western philanthropy mainly includes the following three aspects: 1.The alienation of the relationship between people,that is to say,the benefactor gains through doing charity The sense of morality,while the recipients attribute the poverty to themselves,and no longer reflect on their own problems may be caused by the overall problems of social structure;2.The alienation of charity action mode,that is to say,the use of charity for profit;3.The alienation of charity subject mainly refers to the social problems should be borne by the society or the state rather than relying on individual charity organizations.The third chapter starts from the theory of alienation of charity of Marx and Engels,and reviews the contemporary charity of China.By analyzing the main forms and causes of alienation in contemporary charity activities in China,this paper attempts to explore the possible ways to develop contemporary charity in China.
