As the traditional medical mode is transformed into a new medical mode,which is unified into biology--psychology--the social,medical social workers have also paid more attention to providing psychological support to hospitalized patients.The new medical model not only emphasizes the health of the patients,but also demands the mental health and social adaptation.Due to the body and life out of control,especially the self-care function decline,many hospitalized patients may produce huge psychological imbalance and mental status of loss,fear,anxiety,loneliness and so on.In the absence of adequate mental and social support,caregivers are prone to depression and psychological imbalances,which may further hinder the recovery.Therefore,during the practice as a medical social worker in a large comprehensive hospital in Hunan province,the author uses the professional knowledge of social work to study the psychological support of hospitalized patients,and finds that the typical psychological characteristics of the patients are cognitive biases,missing of psychological capital,lacking of emotional support.And the main psychological needs of the hospitalized patients are the needs of family care,medical staff care,and the resolving of negative emotions.Then the author formulates the intervention plan for the phenomenon and takes the intervention measures.In the Article,the author further studied the way and strategy which provides psychological support for hospitalized patients by medical social worker.The research mainly includes the data collection,the establishment of professional relationship,multiparty--assessment of requirements,formulating reasonable countermeasures,purposeful intervention,evaluation and final analysis.Finally it provides hospitalized patients a better psychological support and contributes to patient's treatment and late rehabilitation.
