Number and calculation are the most widely used mathematical knowledge in daily life,so it is always the most basic content in mathematics teaching.In "compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standard(2011)","operational ability" has been listed as one of the top ten core concepts.This change of "Curriculum Standard" shows that the cultivation of computing ability has been highly valued by people.Mental arithmetic is an important part of calculation.The basis of estimation,the ability of calculation and estimation is developed on the basis of accurate and skilled calculation ability.There is no certain basis of calculation.The cultivation of estimating ability becomes the water of no source.Mental arithmetic teaching Learning is so important,then,what is the current situation of our mental arithmetic teaching?Is there a problem?If there is a problem,how can we improve it?In this paper,the research is carried out.Based on the student calculation scale and teachers' questionnaire,this paper makes a survey on the students of grade four,five and six and some teachers of primary school,and points out the present situation of mental arithmetic teaching.At present,teachers' awareness of mental arithmetic teaching is constantly awakening and improving,but the actual teaching has not kept up.By analyzing the results of the scale,there are no small differences between classes and classes,as well as between classes.The unified teaching,training and evaluation methods can not meet the needs of mental arithmetic teaching,but few teachers make"individualized teaching plan" for mental arithmetic teaching.Moreover,there are few schools teaching and researching mathematics The group specially studies and formulates the mental arithmetic teaching goal.In the face of such a situation,how to implement the requirements of mental arithmetic teaching?On the basis of understanding the present situation,the paper also analyzes the causes of students' errors,classifying them into three categories:"unclear algorithm","unclear writing"and "poor calculation habit".Based on this,this paper further analyzes several problems of students in mental arithmetic learning,including:the understanding of reasoning is not in place,the bad habit of mental arithmetic,the bad effect of pen calculation method,etc.In addition,the paper also analyzes the shortcomings of teachers in mental arithmetic teaching,such as ignoring the individual differences of students,neglecting targeted training,neglecting the optimization of algorithms,and so on.Based on the literature review and the analysis of the results,in order to improve the students ' mental arithmetic and to further implement the requirements of the subject matter,the paper puts forward some strategies to improve the teaching of primary schools,including the following aspects:(1)taking "interest" as the precondition;(2)Based on "knowledge";(3)Take "training" as the power;(4)As the key to "habit";(5)Take "mobile micro-learning software" as the auxiliary tool.
