Repetitive and restricted behavior is one of the core characteristics of autism spectrum disorders, included the stereotyped repeated actions, the ritualized/identical behaviors,an restrictive interests, and the perceptual abnormalities.Restrictive interest, present in nearly 88%of patients,is regarded as a unique characteristic of patients with autism spectrum disorders. At present, there is a lack of research on restrictive interests at home and abroad. The existing research focuses on the exploration of the relationship between restrictive interest and other factors, visual attentive characteristics, and clinical intervention value.Although previous studies have pointed that patients with autism spectrum disorders have abnormal attention bias toward restricted interest stimuli, there have been no studies systematically revealing the specific compositional mechanisms and processing mechanisms of patients with attentive stimuli for preferential attention. It is of great theoretical and practical significance to explore the attentive biased processing mechanism for restrictive interest stimuli in patients with autism spectrum disorders. In this study,13 children with autism spectrum disorder from Xi’an Special School were selected as the experimental group. At the same time,we selected 12 mental retardation children with matching physiological age and intelligence as the control group. The children with autism spectrum disorder were systematically explored in the threshold. The attentive biased processing mechanism for restrictive interest stimuli at the level of consciousness and sub-threshold consciousness. In the first experiment, the Stroop task was used to examine the attentional bias of restricted interest stimuli on the sub-conscious level of children with autism spectrum disorder. It was found that children with mental retardation had no significant difference in the recognition of peripheral colors of different types of pictures;Children with symptomatic spectrum disorders responded longer to the peripheral color recognition of the restricted interest stimulus image, indicating that children with autism spectrum disorders have attentional bias toward restrictive interest stimuli. In the second experiment, the improved point detection task was used to further explore the specific compositional mechanisms of attentional bias in children with autism spectrum disorders. The results of the study showed that children with autism spectrum disorders showed detection on the ipsilateral side of restrictive interest stimuli. There was no significant difference in the response of the point identification reaction with the detection point presented after the neutral stimulation, and it was significantly longer when the recognition reaction of the detection point presented on the opposite side of the restricted interest stimulus was significantly longer than the detection point presented after the neutral stimulus. This indicates that attention to the difficulty of dismissal has led to attentional biases for restricted interest stimuli in children with autism spectrum disorders. In experiment 3,the threshold-point detection masking task was used to investigate the attentional bias of restricted interest stimuli in children with autism spectrum disorder at the conscious level. The results showed that two groups of participants did not respond to the detection stimulation after different types of images.Significant differences existed, indicating that there was no attentional bias toward restrictive interest stimuli between the two groups of subjects at the conscious level. This study found that children with autism spectrum disorders(10-13 years old)have attentional bias toward restrictive interest stimuli, and attentional bias is caused by the difficulty of attention relief. In terms of processing mechanisms, children with autism spectrum disorders use strategic processing methods for restrictive interest stimuli.
