Inquiry teaching and learning is one of the most popular research areas in the field of science education.But in many situations,the effectiveness of inquiry learning is always couldn't be achieved because of students' limited self-inquiry skills.Therefore,how to implement the inquiry teaching better in the actual classroom environment is a major concern of many scientific education researchers and science teachers.Based on this,reviewing the current literature,this study proposes to use the model-based guided inquiry teaching method to design the high school chemistry curriculum.And this method aims to let students get a more comprehensive framework of knowledge and cultivate their science literacy by guiding them to establish the model,collecting data,comparing and modifying the pre-model under the framework of the inquiry learning and so on.After literature search,it is found that there are only few studies about the model-based inquiry in China.Therefore,based on the investigation about senior high school students and teachers,this paper designs a model-based guided inquiry teaching activity.The thesis is divided into eight chapters:Chapter 1 is introduction.This section mainly describes the background,purpose,significance and the content of the research.Chapter 2 is theoretical basis.It mainly gives an account of the constructivist learning theory,POE teaching mode and model-based inquiry which provide support for model-based guided inquiry learning.Chapter 3 is literature review.It is mainly divided into two parts:the definition of the core concepts and the review of the foreign and domestic research.The part of core concepts has a discussion of the concept about inquiry,inquiry learning,inquiry teaching,model,model-based learning,model-based teaching and model-based inquiry teaching;the research review describes the present research of model-based inquiry teaching from four aspects:the teaching effect,the learners' learning characteristics,the influence on teachers' understanding and teaching skills and the learning environment design and application,then the researcher describes several domestic research in detail.Through the literature review,it provides a reference for the course design of this study.Chapter 4 is about the study design.It mainly describes the research ideas and methods of this study.The basis,dimensions and final products of the questionnaire and interview tools are introduced in detail.Chapter 5 is about the implementation process of the questionnaire survey and interview.It mainly introduces the subjects of the questionnaire survey and interview,the data recovery,cleaning and data coding process.Finally,the researcher conducts the validity and reliability tests of the questionnaire.Chapter 6 is about the analysis of the questionnaire and interview.According to the collected questionnaires and interview data,the descriptive statistics analysis and independent sample t test were conducted for high school students in terms of chemistry learning attitude,cognition of models,inquiry consciousness and inquiry ability,and modeling ability.Chapter 7 is about the design of teaching activities.According to the results of the literature review,under the guidance of the model-based guided inquiry teaching method,referring to the analysis results of questionnaires and interview,the corresponding teaching activities were designed combined with the primary battery,which belongs to the contents of the elective 4 of Gao 2 chemistry.Chapter 8 is about the study reflection.The researcher review the whole research process,rethink the problems and shortcomings that still exist in the study,in the hope of improving the research in the future.
