Elaborative strategies refer to deep processing of new information,which can be seen as a summation of a set of methods and techniques to establish a meaningful connection between new information and students' existing cognitive structure and to promote the entry of new information into the long-time memory system.By elaborative strategies,knowledge can be kept for a long time.Through research and literature review,the author divides elaborative strategies mainly into the following five aspects:advanced organizer,analogy,comparison,query and extension.This study aims to investigate the application of elaborative strategies in high school physics teachers during the classroom teaching,in order to understand the present situation of the teachers' use of fine processing strategies.first,the author analyzed the class videos of several excellent high school physic teachers,further to find out elaborative strategies levels of teachers' application in the process of teaching.Then,the author issued a questionnaire in three high schools in Nanjing to investigate teachers'understanding of elaborative strategies and the extent of their application in teaching.At last,he author interviewed two excellent physics teachers in a High School of Nanjing to know their understanding of the elaborative strategies and the application in class.After the three aspects of investigation and research work,there comes to the conclusion:First-line physics teachers have certain understanding of elaborative strategies,but it is mostly practical knowledge of teaching,of great reticence and does not rise to the level of theory.For example,most of the teachers are not very familiar with the advanced organizers,and in their teaching practice,they have made good use of the organizers quiet a lot.In practical teaching practice,there are still some deficiencies in the application of teachers' elaborative strategies.Finally,according to the results of the research and investigation,the author designed the teaching strategy of EMF around the elaborative strategies.
