Social Workers Are Involved In The Study Of Youth Network Dependence

With the development of Internet and electronic technology,network and electronic products are readily accessible to everyone.They have brought much convenience to our life and at the same time,also given rise to a social phenomenon that the youth heavily depend on the network.As teenagers are undergoing rapid physiological development and psychological turmoil,they who lack self-control ability tend to addict to the Internet when they contact it.Because they find they can have a stronger sense of gaining and control in this virtual world.This paper focuses on the project of school social workers taking measures to cope with Internet addition of teenagers and adopts literature research method,interviews,observation method and direct participation method to explore whether the social workers can exert impacts on those teenagers who depend heavily on the Internet.Through answering these questions like what the social workers can do,how they do it,what are the effects,what the factors that affect the result are and what's the best solution when difficulties appear,whether the social workers can make difference to those Internet-dependent teenagers can be concluded.In this project,social workers collect information on potential service objects by means of home visits,interviews with teachers,and interviews with potential service objects.During the data collecting process,they find the common problem of those teenagers,namely,network addiction.Taking advantage of case study,team social work,they provide help for the service objects,and have made some progress.The service-receiving teenagers and their living surroundings have changed to some degrees,their interpersonal communication skills are enhanced their interests and hobbies are explored and their time spent on the Internet is reduced to some extent,and so on.However,because this project starts late,service time is limited,the project fund is insufficient and other objective factors,and the service objects and their living system lack motivation and the worker quality needs to be promoted,the work results have failed to meet expectations.At the end of this paper,the solution to the difficulty encountered by the school social workers in practice is put forward.
