For the first time,the 18 th CPC National Congress report solemnly put forward the socialist core values of “three advocations”and advocated the promotion and cultivation of core values in society as a whole.The 19 th CPC National Congress report once again reiterated the extreme importance of nurturing and practicing the core values,stressing that the youth are prosperous and the youth are strong and the country strong.College students are the hope of the country and the future of the nation.Their values directly determine the future development trend of the Chinese nation and the success or failure of the modernization drive.As a base for undergraduates' growth and development,colleges and universities shoulder the important mission of developing and promoting the all-round development of undergraduates.At present,the socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era.Various ideologies,cultures and values are intertwined and the struggle in the field of ideology is sharpened and complicated.All kinds of wrong values attracted the attention and curiosity of some college students with its novel and unique ways of expression and convenient and rapid communication channels.The group of college students has become the focus of various non-Marxist ideological conflicts in the West.Therefore,to lead the core values of contemporary college students' ideological and political education practice is an important theoretical and practical value of the research topic.This article intends to conduct an in-depth study and discussion of this issue,with a view to contributing to the development of college students' ideological and political education.The full text consists of five parts in total:The first part is the introduction of the article.First of all,the background of this topic is discussed,and the international environment and domestic environment confronted by contemporary college students' ideological and political education are carefully analyzed and summarized.Secondly,the present research status of this subject is introduced,and the related research results are systematically reviewed and summarized from both the domestic and foreign perspectives.Through analyzing andcombing,it is found that a clear subject line has not been formed yet,and there is a lack of research and discussion on the objective law of nurturing and practicing core values.These shortcomings provide an opportunity for further research on the basis of previous research results.Thirdly,this paper briefly introduces the research methods and college students.First of all,the process of presenting the core values of socialism,its scientific connotation and its basic features are systematically introduced and discussed.Secondly,it explains the meaning,basic characteristics and functions of college students' ideological and political education.Finally,it demonstrates the inherent logical relationship between core values and college students' ideological and political education.The core values are not only the basic guiding ideology of college students' ideological and political education,but also constitute the main content of them,while the ideological and political education of college students is an important carrier of cultivating and practicing the core values.The third part is about the socialist core values guiding the ideological and political education of college students the basic meaning and necessity.First of all,this paper profoundly expounds the basic connotation of core values guiding college students'
