With the progress and development of the society,people's living standard has been improved,but there is a decline in the physical health.The physical health is not satisfying,especially for high school students.Students don't like PE class but sports.In PE class,they are learning rather passively,thus gradually losing interest in PE.Higher requirements for PE teacher and class are raised given the phenomenon above.Therefore,PE teacher should explore more teaching methods and modes to enhance students' active learning ability and improve their physical health.The sport education mode was formally put forward by Dr.Siedentop in 1980s.After 30 years of practice and improvement,it has been a very mature PE teaching mode in western countries.The teaching goal of this mode is to cultivate students with sports ability,sports quality and enthusiastic participation.In addition,this teaching mode can improve students' ability of active learning and participation,which can effectively solve the current problems.The research on the sport education mode is beneficial to the development of school PE in our country,and contributes to the PE teaching in the long run.This paper studies the application of education mode in high school basketball class by means of the literature review,questionnaire and experiment and discusses whether the sport education mode is suitable for the development of school PE in China through the analysis of experimental process and results.With two classes of LONGCHENG HIGH SCHOOL as the object,this experiment tests students' physical shape,physical quality and basketball skills,and gives out the High School Students'Psychological Quality Table and Interest of PE Learning Table,during which the experimental class and the control class adopt the sport education model and the traditional teaching mode respectively.The following conclusions are drawn by analyzing final test results:(1)The effect of the sport education mode is not obvious in improving physical quality.(2)The sport education mode is superior to the traditional teaching mode in improving the basketball skills,especially for girls.(3)The sport education mode can effectively improve students' psychological quality.(4)Students in the experimental class are more active in learning and participating than those in the control class in terms of the PE learning interest.The sport education mode was proposed by and adopted in western countries.Based on China's national conditions,the mode is far from being adopted across the country.In terms of some problems in the process,the suggestions are proposed as below:(1)Take the student into consideration.The sport education mode should be combined with school PE in China but cannot be copied blindly.It is the combination of the teaching mode and students' situation that is suitable to the development of school PE in China.(2)From the perspective of the teacher.Teachers should choose their familiar sports programs and build a teaching plan suitable for a certain sports program.In the process of the sport education mode,teachers should constantly adjust the teaching method in accordance with students' situation in learning and continuously strengthen their professional level.(3)Strengthen the classroom discipline.The sport education mode emphasizes the classroom discipline.At the beginning,we should strengthen the control of the classroom discipline.The sport education mode seems to have low requirements for classroom discipline,encouraging students to participate actively.In fact,the mode has a much higher requirement.(4)Establish a well-developed sport education mode system.The mode can be adopted in a small range first after achieving a good result in a class,and then can be promoted on a wide scale.
