STEM education is the integrated teaching model of science,technology,engineering and mathematics.In the current education sector,STEM education has attracted worldwide attention and research enthusiasm.Basic education,including preschool education,has carried out practical exploration and theoretical research on STEM.However,STEM research for early education is relatively rare.Therefore,it is very necessary to study early STEM education.This study is based on the existing literature and data on the early STEM education made the following five parts of the study:The first part:the main content is the origin of research,research problem and research method.This part adopts the literature method to sort out relevant STEM literatures at home and abroad in recent years.The content is divided into related researches on the analysis of STEM education in the United States,the research on the localization of STEM education in China,the related research on early STEM education in China,and the exploration of early foreign STEM education.According to the existing research status,I proposed research issues.The second part:using literature and comparative research methods to make a theoretical study of preschool STEM education.The main content includes the connotation,characteristics and value of preschool STEM education.Compared with STEM education,preschool STEM education centers on mathematics learning and scientific inquiry and then integrates the content of engineering and technology with enlightenment and experience.And the relationship between preschool STEM education and preschool existing scientific inquiry activities was analyzed.The two are both related and different.The primary difference between the two is reflected in the different emphasis on engineering design and scientific inquiry,and STEM can better balance thinking learning and operation learning.The third part:using the case method,and combining domestic and international cases and policy standards,the study designed the project-based STEM teaching activity model.This section explains why the project teaching mode is used to explore the early STEM teaching mode.The teaching mode is discussed in detail from the four aspects of activity goal,content,organization and implementation,and evaluation.The fourth part:Rethinking the actual situation of the current scientific inquiry activities in kindergartens in China.Based on the current status of STEM implementation in our country,we make inquiries from kindergartens,teachers,and the government in three aspects and propose relevant suggestions.The cultivation of pre-school STEM teachers is a top priority.Finally,this part is the overall review and summary of this study.Talking about the results and innovations of this study,we fully appreciate the importance of STEM education for science education in China during the research process,and urgently need relevant institutions to pay attention to the development of kindergarten science education.In addition,the existing problems in the current research are also analyzed.
