The continuous development of the information intelligence era puts forward higher requirements for learners' abilities and qualities.In order to cultivate talents adapted to the future development of society,countries around the world are actively exploring more effective teaching methods to improve the competitiveness of the country in the future world.Traditional education tends to focus only on teaching a specific knowledge and skills,ignoring the links and applications between multiple knowledge and skills,and ignoring the links between knowledge and skills and life.It can no longer meet and respond to the needs of high-quality talents in the future high-speed development world.As a new concept,STEM education aims to break the boundaries of disciplines,to integrate science,technology,engineering and mathematics by solving problems,completing projects and engineering design,and to cultivate innovative talents suitable for the 21 st century.Starting from STEM educational concept,this study designs project learning,and carries out teaching practice with primary school science curriculum as the carrier to explore the effectiveness of project learning under STEM educational concept.The research mainly includes six stages: literature review,project design,case analysis design,teaching practice,effectiveness analysis,summary and reflection.In the stage of literature research,this paper uses the method of literature research to analyze the relevant literature of STEM education and project learning at home and abroad,and summarizes the current research situation.This paper elaborates the origin and development,connotation,literacy and project learning connotation,elements and characteristics of STEM education in detail,and finds that there are many similarities between STEM education and project learning in interdisciplinary,problem situation and other aspects.In the stage of project design,according to the concept of STEM and project learning,the project design principles for STEM education are put forward.Under the guidance of STEM education,this paper studies the design strategies of project learning in five aspects: theme,learning community,activity,scaffolding and evaluation.In the case analysis stage,we select the scientific content of the second volume of the fourth grade of primary school to design and analyze the project learning for STEM education.In the experimental stage of teaching,the fourth grade students in primary schools are taken as the research object,and the teaching is carried out around the project.In the effectiveness analysis stage,the learning effect is tested and analyzed through interviews,questionnaires and examination questions.The results show that primary school science project learning under STEM education concept can improve learners' abilities of problem solving,innovation,collaborative communication,and improve learners' learning attitude towards primary school science curriculum.At the stage of summarizing and reflecting,the paper summarizes the existing problems in the process of research and puts forward some suggestions for the future development of STEM education.
