Through the ages, childhood has never been just a physiological concept. It has profound poetic and sociological connotations. It can be seen from Wordsworth or Holdrin's reminiscence of childhood as well as the fairy tales passed down from generation to generation or children's games that are still in common over time that childhood has the same cultural reference with transcendental imageries like religion and divinity that contain deep psychological genes of human beings.Meanwhile, with the change of social and historical conditions, childhood is also a rich system of interdependence with adults at the practical level. This paper adopts the method of narration while carrying out the research. It takes people born from the 1960s to 2000s as the research objects, trying to present these people's experience during childhood, based on which it explores and analyses the strain between childhood and realistic culture.Childhood is a side image of the whole social life. When the wheel of history rolling forward,it leads to a variety of unique eras which have also marked a distinct brand for the life of childhood. This brand belonged to that era,but the charm of the childhood world is that it is a free and self-contained cultural world while parallel to the current social background. On the one hand,it is separated from daily life with a certain transcendence. On the other hand,it is connected to daily life with its original acuity and sympathy.Reflecting on contemporary childhood, while Postman's fear seems a little bit groundless, the ruthlessness and demagoguery of capital inevitably plunge it into some paradoxical embarrassment.Adults in possession of the social dominant discourse right should take on their cultural and ethical responsibilities, creating a favorable cultural environment for the preservation of childhood nature in post-modern context.
