The important role of art education in the early childhood development has become a consensus all over the world.Based on this consensus,the United States and Australia has revised and published the national art education standards in 2014 and 2016 respectively.This study selected the whole framework and early childhood stage contents of National Core Arts Standards(published by the United States,2014)and the Australia Curriculum:the Arts(published by Australia,2016)as research objects,and use the literature study method to analyze this two national art education standards' designing backgrounds and process,whole framework,ideals,and contents in order to find the similarities and differences between these two standards.In the end,researcher advances the suggestions and enlightenment of early childhood art education in china based on the compare conclusion.In summary,there are more commonalities between these two national art education standards.In designing processes,both countries considered the art standards and practices all over the world.In framework,both standards include five art displine—music,visual art,dance,theatre,and media art,and arranged the content of art learning through multidimensional framework system through preschool to high school.In ideals,both standards value the students' practices in art learning,focus on students' integtated develonment through art,and condsider students as competent learners.And in contents,both standards focus on students' understandings in art area,and have similar content area.Despite all this,there still have differences between these two standards in backgrounds,specific frame settings,age divisions and content focuses.In the end,based on the conclusions of this comparative study,researcher advances the enlightenment and reference from two aspect:designing and implementing national art education standards for early childhood art education in China and helping teacher organize early childhood art education.Including,focusing students'understanding of "Big Ideals",paying attention to artistic process and learning progress during art teaching and learning and the consistency in art learning,developing students' various abilities through art education,,and provide more supportive and operable resources and guidance for teachers.
