With the gradual development of science and technology and the popularization of electronic devices,more people use the electronic devices around to listen to music.Most people wear headphones at work or during breaks.This phenomenon is particularly prominent in this group of primary school students.Many primary school students will play music to change the noisy environment around when they study or read.Some students also listen to music to focus their attention and improve their learning efficiency.Reading comprehension is also a basic ability that is commonly used by students in their study and life.So in the process of reading,in an environment with music,whether it can really promote students' reading is a question that we need to constantly study.Therefore,this paper studies the influence of background music on the reading comprehension of primary school students.This study mainly adopts the methods of test,experiment and investigation.Experimental research take the eye movement technology experiment,mainly includes two experiments,experiment a select a 54 five and six grade elementary school students as the research object,take 2(background: music,no music)x 2(the ease of reading comprehension difficulties,simple)between the subjects of experimental design,the main analysis of the background music and the ease of reading comprehension is influential for primary school students reading comprehension.Experiment 2 to choose a 54 five and six grade elementary school students as the research object,take 2(music types: sorrow,joy)x 2(the ease of reading comprehension difficulties,simple)between the subjects of experimental design,the analysis of music sadness and joy and ease of reading comprehension on the influence of the primary school students reading comprehension.The experimental results were obtained according to the eye movement indicators obtained in the experiment and the results of reading comprehension.To sum up,this study draws the following conclusions:1.There is no significant difference in the achievement of primary school students' reading comprehension between those with and without background music.Background whether or not music affects the eye movement process of reading processing in primary school students.Compared with the condition without background music,the condition with background music can reduce students' cognitive processing time and promote their reading comprehension.2.Background music of different emotional types has significant differences in eye movement indicators of primary school students in the process of reading comprehension.In terms of overall indicators,cheerful background music can reduce cognitive load and promote primary school students' understanding of reading.From the perspective of interaction,cheerful music promotes the reading of simple reading materials,while sad music promotes the reading of difficult reading materials.3.The difficulty degree of reading comprehension has a great influence on the reading comprehension of primary school students.The difficulty degree not only affects the reading achievement,but also affects the eye movement index.Simple reading had better eye movement than difficult reading.In the process of difficult reading comprehension,the eye movement index is high,the cognitive load of students is large,and the eye movement index is low in the process of simple reading.
