The construction and research of textbooks is not only an indispensable role in education,but also a fundamental step in improving teaching quality and reformation.The textbook is the most crucial bridge between teachers and students,which means a well-constructed textbook can make the teachers easier design the content of teaching and students easier follow.Different versions of the textbooks reflect their own characteristics and the editors' educational ideas and educational thoughts.A comparative study of textbooks from different countries is helpful for the researchers to understand the differences between other countries' textbooks and our own countries' better.This purpose of this paper is to discuss the contents of trigonometry in Chinese PEP(A)edition which is used by Chinese high school,and ?Mathematics HL(core)?which is published by Haese Mathematics Publishing House of Australia for IB.This research mainly studies the contents and exercises of the two versions of textbooks.The main contents of this paper include the following aspects.The first chapter states the relevant research background to determine the research content and selects the appropriate research methods.The second chapter collects relevant literature and determines the current research status of this direction to provide research background and support for this issue.In chapter 3,the author does compare studies of the contents of the course of two versions of textbooks,using both qualitative and quantitative methods,from the macrocosm and microcosm perspective.The qualitative research includes knowledge arrangement,concept presentation,formula presentation,and so on.The quantitative research includes selecting appropriate models to quantify the difficulty of the curriculum.In chapter 4,the author selects the appropriate model,to research each exercise,from five aspects including inquiry,background,operation,reason and knowledge.In chapter 5,the author summarizes the conclusion of the comparative study of the two editions,and writes two teaching designs about representative chapter in two versions of textbooks,on the basis of their respective characteristics.According to the research of the differences between contents and exercises,it isfound that the two versions have the following features.1.In the macro-arrangement of the course,the PEP(A)version is interspersed with other contents,and the HM version contains the spiral structure in liner structure.2.In the microcosmic setting of course content,the details are different from each other.(1)The PEP(A)version is from the perspective of students' learning indirect knowledge.Following the law of cognition from the specific to the general,the HM version aims to let students explore and discover by themselves,and gives hints when necessary;(2)On the introduction of the sine rule and the number of triangular solutions,the HM version may be closer to the students' prior knowledge,and the transition is natural and clear.(3)The TOK in the HM version is a special feature,which fully reflects the core characteristics of IB,compared with the PEP(A)version.(4)The HM edition is more careful and natural in the connection with middle school and university.(5)The PEP(A)version focuses on the deeply learning of knowledge and skills,while the HM version focuses on the breadth of knowledge and process approaches.3.In terms of the difficulty of exercises,there is no significant difference in the overall difficulty between the two editions.However,the PEP(A)version is significantly higher than the HM version in terms of knowledge,which demonstrates that our country attaches more importance to the study of mathematical knowledge.On the basis of relevant research,combining the characteristics of the two versions of textbooks,this paper gives some suggestions on the practical teaching of trigonometry,and the concrete teaching designs for samples.
