The role of Mathematics Textbooks in the process of teachers' teaching and students' learning has attracted more and more researchers' attention.As a link between real life and mathematics knowledge,the application of mathematics textbooks has always been a key point in mathematics teaching.Mathematics education in Singapore has attracted much attention from the international mathematics education circle because of its outstanding performance in PISA test.Therefore,the comparative study of mathematics application in junior high school mathematics textbooks between China and Singapore is of great significance to the compilation of Chinese textbooks.In order to understand the differences of mathematics application problems in Mathematics Textbooks between China and Singapore,and the relationship between the components of mathematics application problems,the author takes the examples and exercises in the textbooks of the two countries as the research objects,and mainly does the following work:Firstly,using the method of literature analysis and content comparison,we clarify the relationship between the four concepts of mathematical application consciousness,mathematical application ability,mathematical application problems and mathematical application problems,and get the concept of mathematical application problems;secondly,we analyze the concept of mathematical application problems,extract the factors that can reflect mathematical application problems,and divide each factor into three parts.At the operability level,each level is coded and assigned to get the analytical framework of mathematical application problems.Finally,according to the analytical framework,statistical analysis is used to compare the examples and exercises in the textbooks from macro and micro perspectives.Firstly,we analyze the application examples and exercises in the textbooks of the two countries,and the application characteristics of the examples and exercises in China and Singapore are obtained.Secondly,the internal relationship among the three elements of the application problem is analyzed microscopically,in order to find out the differences between the two countries in the application problem of mathematics textbooks.Through comparison,we can draw the following conclusions:In terms of the comprehensive degree of knowledge points,the textbooks of the People's Education Press in China are higher than those of the Discovery Mathematics textbooks in Singapore;In the background of the problem,both countries have the highest proportion in the background.Among the three levels of actual background,China pays more attention to the topic of public life,while Singapore pays more attention to personal life situation;In the way of problem representation,Singapore textbooks have a higher level than PEP textbooks in China.This is mainly because Singapore tends to use graphs to represent the problem,while China is mainly characterized by words and symbols,which shows that there are still great differences in the way of problem representation between the two countries.Generally speaking,the level of knowledge synthesis and background in China is higher than that in Singapore,while the level of representation is lower.Therefore,when compiling textbooks,we can adjust the proportion between word representation and image representation,reduce the proportion of word representation,increase the proportion of image representation,properly increase exercises based on students' personal life,and continue to maintain the comprehensive level of exercises.
