The physical and mental development rules and learning characteristics of young children determine the integrity and comprehensiveness of kindergarten education.According to the requirements of the "Kindergarten Work Regulations," the educational content of various fields in kindergartens should be organically combined and infiltrated to promote the development of young children.In the practice of kindergarten education,the connection,penetration,and combination among different fields to be with both theoretical and practical necessity are basic requirements for teachers.In recent years,STEM with the integration of disciplines has been introduced into kindergartens.It has the same concept as children's education,and it has also been explored and tried to varying degrees in kindergarten education practice.The concept of STEM has certain enlightening and complementary effects on kindergarten practice.How to make kindergarten teachers more consciously and effectively practice STEM concepts?How to make STEM activities really suitable for kindergarten education practice?How to build an effective mechanism and practical guidance system for kindergarten STEM?These issues are subject to in-depth practical research.This study draws on the experience of STEM activities,roots in the children's activities,and aims at the problem of weak comprehensiveness in current kindergarten curriculum practice under the guidance of curriculum integration theory,STEM education theory,and educational notion of Dewey,Zhang Xuemen,Chen Heqin and others,focusing on the systematic woodworking activities,through observation and interviews,from the perspectives of children's interest,activity process,and teachers'guidance,to analyze the content sources,value,process,and practical possibility of children's STEM activities;to analyze the creation of STEM activity environment from two aspects:site selection and material supply;to summarize the various implementation paths of STEM activities and analyze characteristics of children's acquired experience.Through a series of data coding,from the perspectives of types of children's problems and solutions as well as the methods of adult intervention,the study finds corresponding and effective guiding strategies and explores the development mode,maintenance conditions as well as germination mechanism of STEM activities.The purpose of the study is to grasp the connotation and characteristics of children's STEM,to explore the rule of integration between different disciplines,and speculate the organization and integration mechanism of STEM activities under the concept of curriculum integration.Finally,the conclusions are drawn from the dimensions and methods of integration in STEM activities,the mechanisms and principles of integration in STEM activities,and the strategies and methods of integration in STEM activities.The study also gives teachers five suggestions:to let STEM extend to more fields,let STEM activities return to nature,let children experience the whole process in STEM,find STEM'S broader situation space,and find STEM's broader resource map.The writer also proposes a multi-channel approach to enhance teachers' sense of unity,multi-form to create a research atmosphere,and multi-dimension to give operational advice on practical base.
