At present,it has become a consensus to standardize and improve the quality of kindergarten education through quality evaluation.However,the evaluation of the quality of the kindergarten movement environment still lacks evaluation tools suitable for China’s national conditions.MOVERS is the latest international tool specially used to evaluate the quality of movement environment in preschool education institutions aged 2-6 years.It includes the evaluation of movement equipment,teachers’guidance,parents’ participation,and the relationship between movement and other fields of learning in kindergartens.It can evaluate the physical and mental environment of children’s movement comprehensively.The purpose of this study is to explore the local suitability of MOVERS in China,find out the appropriate and inappropriate indicators,and explore the reasons for the inappropriateness in depth,so as to provide evidence and suggestions for the development of assessment tools with local suitability.This study is divided into two parts:The first part is the preliminary study on the suitability of the scale.Firstly,the scale was translated,and the contents,scoring criteria and scoring methods were explained.Secondly,90 classes were evaluated by trained qualified scorers using MOVERS tools.Finally,data analysis was carried out by using Critical Ratio,correlation analysis,construct validity,criterion-related validity and Cronbach’s alpha.The conclusion is that the four items of "space environment","gross motor","fine motor" and "observation and evaluation" do not meet the suitability criteria in the statistical sense.The second part is the in-depth study of the reasons for the inappropriate project.Firstly,combined with data and practical observation,the status quo of the above four unsuitable projects in practice was described.Secondly,some kindergarten principals,teachers and researchers who participated in the interview and did not participate in the evaluation of kindergartens were interviewed to analyze the deep-seated reasons for the unsuitability.The conclusion is that different cultures,concepts and evaluation methods affect the suitability of some indicators.Finally,some suggestions are put forward to revise MOVERS,including defining the evaluation index of the scale,simplifying the method of collecting data,taking individualization as a higher grade,focusing on the quality of process and taking the present situation of kindergarten education as an empirical basis.
