Growth mindset is a new mindset theory proposed by Carol Dweck and her team on the basis of years of research, which is recognized as one of the most influential psychological research in recent decades.Mathematical growth mindset is a mindset model for mathematics proposed by Jo Boaler on the basis of Carol Dweck's growth mindset theory. The educational concept is that "all children can learn mathematics well".Students with mathematical growth mindset will have a strong interest in mathematics learning, have more active thinking and a good sense of Numbers,They will not afraid of failure, and will eager for challenges, also have the attribution view that efforts lead to success. In the mathematics study, they will also obtain the more outstanding result. Therefore, the study of mathematical growth mindset is very necessary and meaningful. On the basis of literature reading and analysis, this paper determines six indicators of mathematical ability to measure mathematical growth mindset, and divides the level of mathematical growth mindset. On this basis, the mathematical growth mindset of 465 fifth-grade students in two primary schools in Urumqi in Xinjiang was measured and graded, and the test conditions of students with different growth thinking levels were analyzed in detail.Firstly, this paper defines the concept of mathematical growth mindset and the mathematical ability of mathematical growth mindset On the basis of literature review, the papaer defined mathematical growth mindset as a mindset mode for mathematical discipline proposed by Jo Boaler on the basis of Carol Dweck's growth mindset theory. In the definition of mathematics growth and mathematical ability, excavated and summarizes the growth of mathematics mindset ability from international research, and compared with ten core concepts in mathematics curriculum standard of compulsory education, finally determine the understanding ability, visual ability, perception, and contact, ask questions and problem solving skills,a total of six mathematical ability index, and the ability of the above six has carried on the detailed explanation.Secondly, the level of mathematical growth mindset was measured for 465 fifth-grade primary school students in Urumqi,Xinjiang. On the basis of constructing the mathematics growth mindset ability, the test paper was designed according to the students' specific course progress, and 465 fifth grade students were tested. After verifying the reliability, validity, difficulty and differentiation of the test paper, the mathematical growth mindset level of students was measured from the perspective of mathematical growth mindset.According to the division method of PISA on the level of students' mathematical literacy ability, the mathematical growth mindset was divided into five levels, and the mathematical growth mindset level of each subject was confirmed. After the evaluation of the growth mindset level of the students, the performance of the students with different growth mindset level was analyzed by analyzing the answers of the test papers of those students. Finally,The paper evaluated the mathematical growth mindset level of 465 fifth-grade primary school students in Urumqi,Xinjiang, and their performance in various ability indicators. The following conclusions are drawn:1.The level of mathematical growth mindset can be evaluated by six ability indexes, including comprehension ability and perception ability;2.Mathematical growth mindset can be divided into five different levels;3.On the whole, the tested students in Xinjiang senior primary school have a good level of mathematical growth mindset, and most of the students'mathematical growth mindset level is at level 3 and level 4;4.There is a significant difference in the level of mathematical growth mindset between students who have been taught in their mother tongue and those who have been taught in the national common language;5.Among the tested students, there is no significant difference in the growth mindset of senior grade students in Xinjiang primary schools of different genders.
