The Force Concept Inventory(FCI)is a widely used standardized force concept evaluation tool.This paper studies the revision,inspection and application of Chinese version FCI.First of all,we revised the FCI in Chinese,as far as possible to restore the situation that the English one expresses and in line with the expression of physics problems in China,while reducing the problem of problem expression on the impact of measurement results.Based on the Rasch model,the revised FCI is tested for quality.The test results showed that the item reliability is 0.96 of this test,Which is pretty high;with the exception of item 6,7,8 and 18,most of the items meet the requirements of the single-dimensional test;and the item sits well with the Rasch model,except only the item 4.Overall,the quality of the revised test volume is high.The revised FCI was used to examine the mastery of the concept of mechanics in the second grade of the first middle school in Zhucheng.The result shows that: on the whole,only one-third of all the students tested reached the level of mastering the concept of mechanics,which could be seen that the sample of high school students did not have an ideal level of mastery.Through the analysis of specific items and the combination of exchange talks with the students,it is found that in addition to less knowledge of the concept,students still have difficulties in obtaining effective information from the image of the topic,relying on memory and familiarity with the situation to solve the problem,the error concept before and the scientific concept existing at the same time.What's more,the study also used MBT(Mechanics Baseline Test,which is based on mechanical components and the test volumes designed to test students' problem-solving abilities)to survey the same sample.The results showed that boys and girls had differences in FCI scores and that girls performed slightly worse than boys.There was no s ignificant difference in performance between boys and girls in MBT scores.The correlation between FCI scores and MBT scores showed a moderate correlation between them(r=0.552,P<0.01).Further analysis found that students with lower FCI scores correspond to lower MBT scores,but differed in higher ones.It explains that students' mastery of concept sits on the basis of problem-solving and restricts students' problem-solving abilities.The correlation between students' FCI or MBT scores and physical performance was discussed.The results showed that the correlation between MBT scores and physical performance(r=0.513,P<0.01)was higher than that of FCI scores and physics scores(r=0.422,P<0.01).Regression analysis is carried out to find that the regression equation is meaningful.The FCI scores can explain 17.8% of physics scores variation,while the MBT scores do the 26.3%.That is to say that the ability to solve problems affects students' physics performance more than the students' understanding of concepts.
