The children with autism spectrum disorder often have classroom disruptive behavior,which affect their learning and social skill,also the way of following the classroom disciplines and others.Therefore,the cognitive behavior intervention is particularly crucial when children with autism are disruptive.Research has shown that soft pen calligraphy training is one of the art therapies has an impact on decreasing disruptive behaviors at classroom,also is one of the effective ways for emotional and behavior disordered child.Particularly,soft pen calligraphy Unlike many other interventions for children that using music,painting and other psychotherapy.This study aims to verify the effectiveness of soft pen calligraphy training on children with autism that disruptive behavior,through designing intervention plans for selected participants.By using multiple baseline design across participants,three children with an existing diagnosis of autistic disorder were selected to participate in this study,they come from second grade of elementary school,between the age of 8 and 9 years.Observerd and compared their classroom behavior,such as yelling by the intervention of soft pen calligraphy.Moreover,the frequency and period of disruptive behavior was recorded after each Chinese class.With visual analysis strategy,to do the quantitative data analysis.Summarized the benefits of soft pen calligraphy intervention,also the well-defined process and method,then come up with the related recommendations and proposals.This study examined,after soft pen calligraphy intervention was introduced,all three participants demonstrated a reduction in their respective disruptive behavior and showed the significant impact on controlling its frequency and intensity.The intervention of soft pen calligraphy training include four parts: using attention arousal to establish relationships with students;explaining and demonstrating the training content by professors;letting students practice expressing and relieving their feelings by given enough space;doing the mediation to help adjust physical and mental attitude.Most importantly,teachers should pay attention to respect the autonomy of autistic children during the process of soft pen calligraphy intervention,be good at discovering and capturing the details during the practice,create a comfortable and warm intervention environment.Similarly,parents need to cooperate with teachers actively.Overall,there are following thoughts and inspirations that could be considered in further research: thinking of try different intervention methods to decreasing the classroom disruptive behavior for children with autism;using the ways of multiple baseline design across subjects and behaviors to do research.Additionally,using comparative study to observer and record the emotional problems,to provide useful reference for children with autism are disruptive.
