Under the dual impetus of the realistic demand of the curriculum system construction and the social development demand,the quality of the training of academic edgy doctoral students in our country has been paid more and more attention by the society.The curriculum setting of doctor of philosophy in education is directly related to the quality of doctoral training.How to promote the reform of the curriculum system of doctor of philosophy in education in China by drawing on the characteristics of the curriculum setting of doctor of philosophy in education in American first-class universities,which has become an important topic for the quality improvement of doctoral students in education.This study based on the theory of Taylor course theory basis,the integrated use of literature research,the text analysis,case analysis and comparative study.Taking Harvard University,the University of Pennsylvania and Stanford University,the top three American universities ranked by US.news in 2019,as examples.This paper focuses on the curriculum characteristics of doctor of philosophy in education in American.In terms of research ideas,firstly,a dimensional framework for the analysis of the curriculum setting of doctor of philosophy in education is constructed,and a comparative analysis is made on the curriculum setting of doctor of philosophy in education in these three universities in the aspects of curriculum type,curriculum content,curriculum implementation and the correlation between curriculum learning and dissertation research.Secondly,based on this analytical framework,this paper analyzes the curriculum system and setting characteristics of doctor of philosophy in education in three universities,and makes a comparative analysis,so as to summarize the basic characteristics of the curriculum setting of doctoral students in doctor of philosophy in education in American.Finally,in view of the main problems existing in the curriculum setting of educational doctoral students in China,the author draws on the advantages of the curriculum setting of doctor of philosophy in education in the United States,and puts forward some countermeasures for the curriculum reform of doctor of philosophy in education in China.The results of the study showed that the three universities in the aspect of doctorof philosophy in education courses mainly exist in common: the following five modular curriculum and research methods courses than high,pay attention to the design,interdisciplinary courses across college attaches great importance to the teaching practice and research,emphasize to develop a personalized course study plan,pay attention to the workshop should be brought into the regular curriculum management.Combined with the excellent experience in the curriculum setting of doctor of philosophy in education in the United States and the demand of our society for compound innovative academic talents,this paper puts forward some more scientific and reasonable suggestions for the existing problems in the curriculum setting of doctor of philosophy in education in China.In terms of course types,the author proposes to add methods,interdisciplinary and academic frontier courses.In terms of the content of the course,the author proposes that the purpose of the course study is to serve the dissertation research and to enhance the correlation between the course study and the dissertation research.In the aspect of curriculum implementation,it is suggested to set up a guidance group for the selection of doctoral courses to help the doctoral students to formulate personalized curriculum study plans and urge the doctoral students to participate in the supervisor's research projects.
