Research On Service Of University Libraries For Community User

With the development of the society,the public needs for knowledge and culture are growing day by day.It is impossible for the public to meet their needs simply by relying on the resources and services of public libraries.University library has great advantages in resources,talents,environment and facilities.In recent years,the public has become louder and louder for the development of university libraries for the society and some colleges and universities have already tried in this area and achieved good results.We can see that the provision of services to the community by university libraries has become a trend of its development.Due to the geographical and economic factors and the abilities of different libraries,our university libraries can not blindly copy the model of foreign countries.Therefore,the service provided by the university library to the surrounding community users becomes the discussion points of the scholars.This article is divided into six parts.The first part mainly introduces the research purpose,background and significance of the dissertation,the review of the research at home and abroad,the key problems to be solved,innovations and shortcomings.The second part gives an overview of community library services.It mainly describes the concept and theory of community service,and discusses the necessity and feasibility of community service in university library from four aspects.The third part mainly introduces the demand of community users and investigates the communities around Harbin Normal University and University of Science and Technology Beijing by using the network survey method and questionnaire method.Then get to know the basic situation and summarize the demand situation of the users.The fourth part analyzes the requirements of the community users and the survey results to get the current problems and reasons of the community service of the university library.Based on the first four parts,the requirements of the community users and the survey results,the fifth part examines the related literature and draws on the advanced experience of the successful cases and methods to solve the current problems.The sixth part summarizes the paper and puts forward the prospect.
