Research On The Technology Spillover Effect Of Producer Services FDI On China’s Manufacturing Industry

Our country is in the stage of transform from big manufacturing industry country towards powerful manufacturing country,promoting to upgrade the quality and efficiency of manufacturing industry,we should pay attention to the important role the productive service industry played in boosting it upgrade.The scale of China’s productive service industry is small and its structure is not balanced,so the role they played in promoting the manufacturing transformation and upgrading is very limited.So we should seize the opportunity of service industry transfer,actively introduce service industry foreign direct investment come in to promote our country’s manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading.Through the review of related research at home and abroad,we found that the producer services will promote the development of manufacturing industry,foreign producer service’s introduction can affect the domestic manufacturing industry’s efficiency improvement by forward spillover and backward spillover effects,and the spillover mechanism were analyzed and explained.According to the analysis of the existing scholars and the division of China’s relevant documents,we choose the 5producer services industry which has a strong correlation with the manufacturing industry as the main research target.In the third chapter,through the producer service industry and foreign direct investment(FDI)inflow’s statistical analysis,we found that both of them have a small amount of size,the industry structure is not reasonable,the proportion of those high intensive knowledge and technology industries and support strong efforts on innovation and development of manufacturing industry is low;and regional development is not balanced,the central and western regions far behind in the eastern region.In the fourth chapter,the panel data of manufacturing industry and producer service industry of 10 years in 2004-2013 were studied.The main research contents are:First,from different visual angles of the producer services industry and the subdivided industry,the measurement model of FDI for manufacturing technology spillover is constructed.As a key indicator of model,we imitate the method of the thesis Luo Libin constructed contact index of manufacturing industry and Producer Service Industry FDI;Secondly,from the point view of productive service industry overall empirical regression,the results show that FDI has a significant positive effect on the improvement of the manufacturing industry efficiency.Finally,from the perspective of industry an empirical regression,it was found that different productive service industry have various effect on different manufacturing industry efficiency and the way there are differences,and reasons for these differences are interpreted and analyzed.The results of this study indicate that the foreign direct investment of productive service industry exerts different influences on total factor productivity of manufacturing industry in China.On issues such as our country’s introduction of productive service industry FDI`s scale is insufficient,the internal structure is not balanced and how to improve foreign direct investment`s technology spillover effect to China’s manufacturing industry,and puts forward some corresponding suggestions.
