Study On Sustainable Development Of Agricultural Heritage

As an important foundation for human civilization,agricultural civilization experienced thousands of year?s development from natural planting to artificial cultivation.Agricultural production and techniques,which our ancestors had accumulated and inherited from long-term farming,and the lifestyle,historical civilization and agricultural landscape that derived from agriculture,all together composed the agricultural heritage with unique characteristics.However,due to human being?s predatory exploitation of nature,ecological environment has been severely deteriorated,which lead to the frequent occurrence of disasters and the severe damage of agricultural cultural heritage sites of material heritage,landscape and cultural resources,and production technology systems,landscape and agricultural environment.The sustainable development of agricultural heritage is facing a crisis.This paper made a deep study on sustainable development of agricultural heritage,which has a great significance.It would promote social recognition of agricultural heritage,and protecte the consciousness and importance of agricultural heritage,but also make these treasures being better inherited,protected,developed and innovated,ensuring the continuity of historical cultural heritage and making the abundant agricultural heritage been inherited thoroughly and permanently.Firstly,this paper introduced the relevant background and significance of agricultural heritage,summarized the purpose and content of this study,and described the applied research methods and techniques.Then,this paper discussed current domestic and foreign protection and exploitation of agricultural heritage,and analyzed the advantages,disadvantages and challenges of current situation,landscape resources,material resources,cultural resources through field investigation and statistic analysis,based on the theories of sustainable development of agricultural heritage,with the illustration of perpetual rice-farming culture system.And according to the natural environment,traditional agricultural production activities,unique culture types,degrees of social and economic development,and approaches of protection and exploitation,this paper constructed an evaluation index system for the sustainable development of Wannian rice-farming culture system.Every index factor has been quantized and standardized and its index weight has been confirmed through analytic hierarchy process,so that to achieve a comprehensive index of the sustainable development of Wannian rice-farming culture system and to analyze this index to get seven major problems of the sustainable development of Wannian rice-farming culture system at the present stage.Finally,based on the practical experience of sustainable development of 4 domestic and foreign agricultural heritages,this paper not only proposed 5 rational and feasible suggestions to boost the sustainable development of Wannian rice-farming culture system,but also forecasted the future studies,development direction and other unresolved problems of agricultural heritage.
